Regulated profession

Maître Kauser Toorawa practises as a lawyer (avocat), a profession governed by French Law No. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971 and Decree No. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991. She is a member of the Toulouse Bar and bound by the profession’s ethical rules, in particular the National Internal Rules (RIN) and professional secrecy (Article 66-5 of the Law of 31 December 1971).

Her practice is covered by the professional liability insurance taken out by the Toulouse Bar.

Consumer mediation

In accordance with Articles L.616-1 and R.616-1 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer client may refer a dispute free of charge to the consumer mediator of the legal profession with a view to its amicable resolution:

This website is static: it uses no cookies, no trackers and does not call upon any third-party services (analytics, social media, advertising). No data is collected merely as a result of your browsing.

Personal data is processed only when you contact the firm, by email or telephone, or when you transmit documents through the firm’s secure file-deposit space. Collection is limited to the information you provide and to what is necessary to handle your request or your case.

Purpose and legal basis — This data is processed solely to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, to assess and then carry out the assignment entrusted to the firm. Processing is based on the firm’s legitimate interest in responding to the requests addressed to it and, for clients, on the performance of the contract entered into with the firm and, more generally, on compliance with the legal obligations of the legal profession.

Recipients and confidentiality — Data is processed fairly, confidentially and securely. It is intended exclusively for Maître Toorawa and, in the case of clients, covered by professional secrecy. The file-deposit space is hosted on the firm’s own infrastructure, without recourse to any third-party file-sharing service. Data is neither sold nor transmitted to third parties.

Retention period — Data relating to enquiries, to exchanges with the firm and, more generally, to a client’s case is kept for the time necessary to handle the request or carry out the assignment, then archived until the expiry of the limitation periods and retention obligations applicable to the legal profession. Documents transmitted through the secure file-deposit space are automatically deleted from that space when the deposit link expires.

Your rights — You have the right to access, rectify and erase the data concerning you, as well as the right to object on legitimate grounds and to restrict its processing, and the right to issue directives regarding its fate after your death. These rights may be exercised by email to contact@toorawa.fr or by post to the firm’s address, together with proof of identity where applicable.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).
